Agile teams are often challenged by changes in priorities and plans. Teams need better ways to handle interruptions while maintaining predictability as they deliver value across work streams. Here are 4 ways for handling change when working in cycles or sprints: Uno-Accepted and roll with them – Plan as if there is no support; fix work and adjust your plans constantly. Simply be in constant communication with stakeholders be transparent about the effects of interruptions; Dos-Plan and Budget change as client or system support work based on a calculated percentage of item spent or budgeted “story points” per cycle or sprint; Tres-Firefight! Build a focus team for support work, “non-new” work. Every Sprint or so they simply prioritize and execute in Kanban mode until work is done. They will return (or not) to the sprint or cycle queue; Cuatro-Build on-demand special teams that can be assembled (first responders) as issues arise; constantly re-plan only their work. All other teams planned work can stay or proceeded as plan. I’ve used Tres and Cuatro with great success. Try these and let me know? Read – goo.gl/JydvcK – Visit – www.3tpstobeagile.com
